Dandenong Housing

Located at the South-West corner of Dandenong district, Melbourne – Australia where it is tricky to get natural light from the North. The project allows more in-depth research based on precedents found during the process which was letting it goes with the flow. First of all, the division is created based on a point from the North which also sets the rotation of each house. Second, using the system of joinery and service core, the stand-alone inner wall supports its own structure of the house while providing a continuous circulation within the house. Each unit opens up to the common courtyard to encourage and involve people within the neighborhood to interact with each other. Moreover, to keep privacy in the house, a diagonal angle is designed to avoid direct glaring into the house.
